Bibles for Honduras

Bibles for Honduras exists to put the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the hands of the people of Honduras. The sole purpose of this ministry is to purchase, transport and distribute Spanish Bibles to the people living in Honduras.  We give out Bibles in many places throughout Honduras; streets, prisons and churches, as well as anyone we come across that may need a Bible.

You can be involved in this ministry by helping us provide Bibles to the people of Honduras. Visit the Bibles For Honduars website at www.biblesforhonduras.com

CUMC Philippines Missions

A brainchild of Rev. Shane Bishop, the Christ United Methodist Church Philippine Missions administers and coordinates programs in the Philippines. It has been involved in missionary work in that country since 2001.   Early activities include the purchase of a lot and the donation of a minitruck for the Holy Mountain United Methodist Church in Ormoc City, and a motorized banca for the former Leper Colony in Culion, Palawan by the Vacation Bible School under Mrs. Liz Reed. A beautiful church finished with granite was dedicated to the Lord in 2008 in Upper Paatan, Kabacan, North Cotabato in Mindanao.  Currently we are constructing a parsonage for that sister church, also called Christ United Methodist Church.

The provision of scholarships to qualified and needy students at all levels of education, which started in 2001, remains the centerpiece of our ministry. Currently CUMC and the Journey UM Church led by Rev. Steve Heitkamp have 250 scholars in the Philippines all sponsored by individuals or families. Mr. Joshua Ellis has replaced Mrs. Mindy Heitkamp as scholarship coordinator at CUMC. The Aledo UM Church under the leadership of Pastor Jeff and Mrs. Lisa Bealmear has 50 scholars there. The Bealmears while at Christ Church were involved with our Philippine projects for many years. Our scholars reside in 10 locations throughout the Philippine islands.

In the last two years we have embarked on a Supplemental Feeding Program for elementary students who go to school without first eating breakfast. Currently Christ Church supports the feeding program for 225 students, Aledo UM Church with Rev. Jeff Bealmear as pastor for 100 and the Journey UM Church under the leadership of Dr. Steve Heitkamp for another 100. In addition our 225 students on the feeding program each receive a jumbo-sized toothpaste and a toothbrush. Mr. James and Mrs. Patricia Dunn co-chair the feeding and dental health programs. An annual Philippine banquet is held at CUMC and separately at the Aledo UM Church. Donors can choose to sponsor students or contribute to the feeding and dental health programs.  Since 2009, the fiduciary aspects of the programs have been administered by the Christ Philippine Missions NFP, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt foundation with a complete set of officers elected every two years. Mr. Jim Kelso and Mr. Joshua Ellis are the treasurers. Members of the Mission Team visit the Philippines at least once a year. The CPM board meets at least twice a year.

Feed My Sheep Ministry (Honduras)

The purpose of Feed My Sheep Ministry is to help the people of Honduras to form a relationship with Jesus Christ. We work to provide the opportunity to the poorest of the poor of Honduras to change their lives and situations. We support them by supplementing their diets with feeding programs, providing much needed medical care, and giving them an opportunity to receive an education.

Feed My Sheep focuses on neighborhoods to help the people of those areas break the cycle of poverty through education, nutrition and health care. Perhaps the most important aspect of our mission is to change the hearts of those who travel to Honduras as missionaries. As we take groups to Honduras on international mission trips, participants see first-hand a snapshot of the need in third world countries and are able to explore their own calls to international missions.

You can be involved in our ministry in a variety of ways, including traveling to Honduras as a missionary. You can also help us by providing food, Bibles, clothing, toys, medicine, and scholarships to the people of Honduras.
