Safety and Security Ministry
The purpose of the Safety and Security Ministry is to keep everyone at Christ Church safe and secure! Our goal is to provide a well trained, “low-key” security presence at every major worship service and special event. Our team also provides specialized training for other ministries. We have four groups that work together to form the Safety and Security Team:Watchers. Look for and report unusual or suspicious behavior. No special qualifications are required. Must be at least 21 years of age. 1-2 hours of training is provided.
Shepherds. These are the team leaders who assist everyone at Christ Church who needs help with directions, finding classes, etc. They also coordinate team response to unusual events and emergencies. They wear burgundy blazers and must be familiar with all church activities. Emergency Response training is provided.
Guardians. Members of this physical response team are prepared to intervene in a situation when necessary. Law enforcement and/or military training is preferred. Self-defense training is provided monthly.
Control Center Operators. Monitor the camera system and radio. Operators also dispatch team members when necessary and provide guidance to other teams during an incident. Our ministry works in three shifts on Sundays, 8:00-10:00, 10:00-12:00 and 5:30 - 8:00. We also provide our services during special church events. Safety and Security members carry professional radios and wear special identification pins. Burgundy shirts bearing the Christ Church logo are also issued.
